3rd Grade, Research and Inquiry Activities
3rd Grade, Research and Inquiry Activities
1. Connect to http://www.kidzone.ws/poetry/haiku.htm.
2. Read the introduction to haiku.
3. Haikus are short poems that describe one moment in time. The first line of the poem is five syllables, the second line is seven syllables, and the third line is five syllables again.
4. Read the information in Worksheet 2. Do you have any questions? Read the information again and then ask your teacher if there is anything you are still uncertain about.
5. Write a haiku. Your haiku can be about anything you want, but if you're having trouble thinking of something, here are some examples to get you started: A season, an animal, a favorite place, or a favorite activity.
